We take great pleasure in working with our customers to create an addition that not only meets their needs, but their budgets as well. In today's housing market, it is much more cost effective to build an addition on your home to create additional space needed, as opposed to buying a new home. It is taking longer and longer for homes to sell due to the slowing housing market. This costs you not only time, but also usually means you will get much less for your home than you would have just a couple of years ago, when the housing market was booming. This coupled with the cost of the commission for a real estate professional to sell your home, it is pretty easy to see where you will save more money by adding on to your home to make it suit your needs. Once the addition is built it will increase the value of your home dramatically, and when you sell it down the road, hopefully when the housing market is better, you will recoup your investment and then some.
Choices
We can either work with you on a design to suit your needs and budget, or if you already have plans drawn up by an architect we can quote the project from the plans you submit to us. If you would like us to make suggestions to improve the design you submit to us, we are always happy to do that as well. We will then work with your architect to make any changes as appropriate.
How do we get started?
1) Prepare a list of realistic "needs and wants"
2) Decide on a realistic budget for the project (what you can afford to spend)
3) Decide on a time line to complete the project (when you would like to have the work completed by)
4) Decide how you would like to finance the project
5) Call us to set up an appointment @ 847-223-2668, or email us, and we will get in touch with you asap
Things you will need:
1) An up to date Plat of Survey
2) A list of requirements of your association (if applicable)
3) The list(s) above (answers from "How do we get started")
What we will need to do:
1) Obtain a copy of the plans drawn up by your licensed architect, if applicable.
2) Discuss with you the details of the project.
3) Come and visually inspect the property, and the existing home. At this time we will discuss with you how the addition will sit on the property, and how we will make it look original to the home. We will then take a look at the inside of your home and discuss with you the interior details.
Fees:
If you already have plans drawn up by a licensed architect, we will provide you with a Free Estimate, based on the plans submitted to us. If you need us to work with you on the design and have the plans drawn up, we will require a deposit which would be applied to the project once you are ready to proceed. The amount of the deposit would be determined by the size and complexity of the addition.
